On January 9, 2018, ALS took the life of a beloved friend, sister, daughter, and mother. Each year on the Saturday in December nearest her birthday we gather to remember, honor, and celebrate Shelley. As some of you recall, she ordered a mariachi band for her own wake, and in that spirit of
Choosing Joy, we celebrate her by
walking, talking, and laughing the
3-mile loop around Lady Bird Lake.
I hope each of you will again be able to
join us in remembering a woman who
lived fiercely and joyfully in her too few
years on the earth.

Usual place: The Rock under the
Mopac Bridge on the North Side
of the lake.
